These winter holidays Dance Central will be holding special holiday classes to raise much needed funds for our amazing DC Kidz Crew! The crew will be representing Canberra and Australia at the World Hip Hop Championships at the end of July and need your support. Dance Central will be running some amazing classes over the 2 week holiday break for all of you who want to keep that extra winter layer off, or just want to have some fun!
Holiday classes are as follows:
TUESDAY 6th & 13th July: HIP HOP (Open) – Kimberlee Garcia
WEDNESDAY 7th & 14th July: LYRICAL (Open)– Rachel McDonald
THURSDAY 8th & 15th July: EXOTIC FUNK (Open)– Ange Magliulo
It’s only $20 per class, and all classes run from 6:00pm – 7:30pm, so get down to Dance Central 10 minutes before the class to book and pay (CASH ONLY).
All proceeds will be going towards getting the DC Kidz Crew on the world stage!
Come along and have some fun, there’s no better excuse to keep dancing this winter!
Latest News- June - 2010:
A huge congratulations to our DC KIDZ CREW! The crew who recently competed in the Australian heats in Sydney on May 29, will be representing Canberra AND Australia at the World Hip hop championships in Las Vegas in July/August later this year! Amazing efforts guys- well done!!
The crew who are made up of 8 young talented indiviuals will be following in the footsteps of the DC CREW who in 2009 also represented Australia at the same competition. Please stay tuned to see what our DC Kidz crew are up to until we leave.

Week 10 Jnr classes OPEN WEEK-Monday 28th - Saturday 3rd July
Your child will be doing a little performance for you and any of your family or friends who would be interested in attending in week 10. This performance is designed to give you all a chance to see what your child has been learning throughout the term and we hope that you can all be there to support your child J
Jnr classes- Re-enrol to secure your spot!
Please note that our policy for re-enrolment for term 3 2010 has changed. This is due to term 2’s classes being extremely busy and in some cases booked out. To avoid disappointment and to ensure your child is able to remain in the same class. Please book and pay by Friday 2 July 2010.
Current Term 2 bookings get first priority on bookings and availability on classes!
Below are different methods of how to re-enrol:
- Call Dance Central on 0433 111 800 or 6282 7609 to place your booking and pay over the phone by credit card.
- Or book and pay in person at Dance Central reception.
- All bookings will only be confirmed with payment; either credit card over phone or cash/chq eftpos at reception.
Remember:
- As a current member we give you first priority to book for term 3 however your booking must be made by Friday 2 July 2010. We will then open availability to kids on the waiting list and for new customers.
(If you have a friend who would really like to join your class please ask them to call us so we can put them on the waiting list so that we can do our best to get them in with you!)

CASS SMITH – (Hi Definition Crew- LA)
Credits include: “America’s Best Dance Crew” Season 1 with his crew Live in Color, now known as Hi Definition.
Cass also teaches at the world famous Debbie Reynolds dance studio in Los Angeles. He has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show with his crew -Hi Definition. Dance and choreography credits include Mc Hammer, Jay Z, Jennifer Lopez, Trina, Latin Billboard Awards and countless other stage performances. His unique style from Miami, Florida, is of high impact and full out movement and has granted him the opportunity to choreograph for the NBA’s number one dance team the Miami Heat Dancers.

We hope you all had a safe and happy break! We are excited to get the dance year kicked off and have been busy in the centre doing some changes and preparing the year ahead!!

DC DOLLS AUDITION- Your chance to dance with a professional commercial dance group
A brand new professional dance group called DC DOLLS is looking for new advanced/professional dancers to audition!
If you are ready to perform at a professional level and have a enthusiastic personality- this job is for you.
DC DOLLS will be focused on all commercial dance styles and will be marketed through our Talent Central agency.
The DOLLS will be required for regular training and rehearsal sessions as well as commitment to performances in and around the ACT.

DC STUDENT and Teacher NEWS:
-Just before Christmas, one of our gorgeous teen hip hop students, Michaella Tazreiter, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
As you can imagine this is a tough time for both Michaella and her entire family. The Dance Central family is rallying support from the DC community
to donate to a special fundraiser for Miki and her hospital expenses. The 4 teachers, Alex Carson, Will Tran, Amy Sang and Jamie Macintosh all made it to TOP 100 week so keep your eyes peeled and cheer them on!

DC CREW & JNR DC KIDZ CREW WIN GROOVE 09!!
Winning Groove in 2008 gave DC Crew automatic entry to Represent Canberra in the Australian heats of the World Hip Hop Championships held in Sydney earlier this year. The crew wowed the crowd with an explosive fun filled routine put together by the Group of 7 Dancers themselves. With all members aged between 17 and 19 years, this was a great achievement. The crew were blown out of the water and totally speechless to hear that they had won 2nd place in Australia knowing this secured them a position to compete in Vegas and represent Australia!
