Why Blueberries?
An extensive background in teaching dance through the British Ballet Organisation (BBO) over 10 years has inspired us to design a new program for children aged 21 months to 5 years of age. Each class at Blueberries not only provides dance tuition but components of music and drama! Pre school aged children need to be stimulated in many ways to hold their attention, an ordinary dance class being taught over the usual 30 minutes does not stimulate most 2 to 5 yr olds.
Each Blueberries class is designed to develop skills in rhythm, coordination, strength and flexibility in movement. We help develop your childs ability to take direction and cultivate personality & social skills. A major focus at Blueberries is to nurture and strengthen each childs confidence and self-esteem.
At Blueberries we teach three styles of dance, Jazz, Ballet & Funk. We teach the use of musical instruments, musical rhythms, and singing. Children are encouraged to exercise their imagination in drama and improvisation activities.
Customer Testimonials!
"I want to thank everyone at Blueberries, and especially Amy who teaches my daughter, Georgia, Wednesday’s in Tuggeranong. I don't get to see Georgia at her dance classes as I work, but yesterday I had the day off and put on the CD she was given a few weeks ago and she showed me her dances. She was doing the 'rain dance', picking leaves off trees, doing the duck dance etc. I was amazed at how focused she was, yet how much she was loving it. It was really delightful. She then taught me, "just like Amy does", how to do the dances. Even my 15 month old son (who watches her at dance class every week) was trying to do the moves that he clearly knows too, just from watching Georgia each week. We now play the CD in the car and both kids sit in the back clapping and doing the moves. It is delightful and I can’t thank you enough. I’m so glad I chose Blueberries for her."

"My reared-at-home daughter was 3.5 years old but not talking, not engaging, and very much in her own little world, when we first encountered Blueberries. We knew she was merely a late developer, but it was clear she needed some sort of extra stimulation. We have now spent a year doing 3 - 4 year old dance and music with both Julie and Cee-Cee, and she has blossomed so much with the exposure. She began to engage more with other children, and adults she did not know, and grew strongly into her little body when she had previously been physically under-confident. Her love for music gained an outlet and she has developed beautifully there, as both singer and musician. We can actually see it emerging from her, and it's obvious Blueberries has been the catalyst. It has also been great fun for me, a good work out, and a chance to make some lovely new friends. We are so happy with Blueberries. Thank you so much." Robyn-Nicholls
"I just wanted to let you know how much my daughter Keelia is enjoying her Blueberries class with Alyssa. When she first started, Keelia was quite shy and usually clung to me when she was around people she didn’t know. By week 2 of term, she was joining in and dancing was all she’d talk about at home. At the end of week 2 she wouldn’t leave until she gave Alyssa a hug goodbye. This is huge for her as she usually takes a lot longer to warm up to people. She still asks every day if she can go to dancing classes. Term 1 is almost over and in the 9 short weeks since she started dancing I have seen her confidence improve in all areas. She no longer cries when I drop her off at childcare and is much more outgoing in social situations. Friends and family have all noticed the positive change as well. So thanks to Alyssa and the Blueberries team for creating such a fun positive environment!" Leeanne- Belconnen
